Ice House® Flannel-Lined Corduroys
Soft and warm pre-shrunk cotton flannel lines these medium- wale corduroy slacks from waist to ankle, inside and out! The full elastic waist has belt loops, plus a zip-and-snap fly. Two front pockets are also flannel-lined to keep hands toasty, with 2 patch pockets in back. All in cotton/polyester that's machine care.
The snap is useless -- even when not actually wearing the pants, a very light pull makes it pop right open. I plan on asking an alterations place if they can add another, or a button, because otherwise nice pants. The sage color is rather dark and lifeless, though, & I would like to see a color with a bit more actual green in it next year. I'd like a richer, warmer tan, too, instead of the current light tan, which looks more for warmer weather.
In childhood I wore hand-me-downs from an older cousin, but though I suspected he had some, I never wore flannel-lined corduroys. Once I grew older, I refused to pay L. L. Bean prices for such comforts, so I either stayed home or walked and eventually got cold. In my mid-fifties, however, I discovered Haband! What blessed relief to walk the streets and roads here in Pennsylvania, fearless of winter wind and cold! These are far and away my favorite Haband item. They are superbly snug, with tartan- plaid flannel linings that hug waists of every size because of their thickly elasticized waist bands. Pockets, hems, belt loops, and zippers are reinforced and never give way, and the pockets themselves are numerous and ample. Though they're undoubtedly manufactured overseas, these pants are durable, too; mine have been worn once or twice a week every winter for the past few years, yet they barely show their age. (One pair does have a zipper that once or twice a year goes off track and has to be unzipped and rezipped, but that is only a minor nuisance. My main concern now is that by the time these finally do wear out and need to be replaced, Haband will for some reason have discontinued making them. Let it not happen, fair Duke! Try these yourself, and if you like them as much as I do, let Duke know you'll be a steady customer from now on if he'll only promise to keep making Ice House Flannel-Lined Corduroys. Happy holidays to you.
